Electric installation 3.180 euro

In order for the summer camp facilities to transform to a proper hospitality center that accommodates vulnerable refugees , it requires a series of electrical works that are summarized as follows:

A) Laundry facilities 

- 6 fluorescent lighting and t

- 2 external sockets along the corridor 

- 4 fluorescent fixtures 

- 2 external sockets for the carwash.

- For the laundry feeding to be installed from the beginning it needs a series of external panels with fuses, switches and external sockets (4 total) for the safe operation of the laundry 

- handling of lights from the entrance.

B) In the courtyard that there is under the shelter,  there will be placed six watertight fluorescent tubes with 4 exterior switches and the old worn out fixtures will be uninstalled
C) In the area of the bathrooms,  three watertight fluorescent vessels will be installed outside the entrances and the bathrooms lamps bathrooms will be replaced with new type led a total of 12 and will get additional 4 double fluorescent bodies. In the bathrooms and the WC a total of 12 lamp holder and transfer the handling of the lighting at the entrance to five external waterproof switches.

D) In the multipurpose area, two fluorescent lights will be bought to replace the old light switches

E) In the courtyard, seven led headlights will be placed in the areas close to the forest, the church and the damaged ones will be safely removed.

F) For the tents and the prokat wooden houses, there will be a reinforced metal outer board three rows and switches and fuses for the power supply will be placed for every tent with a separate cable switch for safety reasons. While there will be a hook (hasp) for air anchoring cables for all the tents. Each tent will have a fluorescent body, switch and two reinforced sockets. G) In all wooden houses, the old switches and sockets will be replaced in order to ensure the safe functioning and installment of the lighting 

Specifications

The tubs are tight fluorescent lamps with dual color white protective cap. The headlights are type led to energy savings with two years warranty and durability of 25,000 hours. Two boards (laundry and multipurpose) will be modified and strengthened with new fuses installed while an external metal board will also be installed.

The above have been estimated and agreed as follows:

Labor: 1,500 euros

VAT Labor: 240 euros
Material cost with VAT : 1,440 euros

Total cost: 3,180 euros

Funerals

One of the most difficult tasks we have to perform is the burial of those who did not survive their dangerous journey. For this reason we need the sums below:

For every burial we need a coffin and sheets that cost 200 euros. For the driver of the excavator and the hearse 50 euros. Marble stone with the name of the deceased embossed on it 50 euros (because sometimes relatives come searching for their beloved ones), and 100 euros for 4 employees who are immigrants and are hosted at PIKPA for the digging and burying. Total cost 400 euros.

Due to lack of funds, about 10 graves have the names written by a simple marker and there is danger for the name to be easily erased.  So we need to make marble stones there as well, and this amounts to a sum of 500 euros.

Interpreters

The most useful volunteers are those who can interpret. All of them can speak Greek or English and Arabic for the Syrians, Farsi, Urdu for the rest of the immigrants. Most of the times the interpreters are immigrants themselves but have lived long enough in Greece and have had Greek lessons. Most of them face the same difficulties with every other immigrant, so this project has a double aim: For the immigrants who have lived here to work and become part of our society, but also for the newly arrived to receive services of communication and support. Interpreters are needed everywhere, on the coast where immigrants arrive, in the buses for information, at the centres of Moria, Kara Tepe, PIKPA, when delivering the food, in every organizing activity.  It is estimated that a monthly allowance of 800 euros for six days a week and eight hours a day would be satisfactory.

First reception packet 12.000euros/month

It is usually observed that the immigrants we receive on the island are dehydrated and exhausted, and suffer from various injuries. We think we should offer them a first reception packet with some water, a sandwich, a boiled egg, wet wipes, cotton and bandages, and also a mini leaflet with basic information. A similar packet for the kids could include a small toy, a diaper and some chocolate. The main problem so far has been the lack of volunteers who would distribute the packets, but now we have hired urban and interurban buses, whose drivers distribute the packets. We have estimated that 200 packets can be distributed every day, each one costing 2 euros, so the total monthly amount is 200X30X2=12000. In this sum we have included the fee of the immigrants who make the sandwiches, boil the eggs and pack.

Sewage pits

1)      One offer comes from Oikonomou Christofas. The pit’s dimensions will be 4,00m*5,00m and the height will be 2,5m. It will include the digging of the pit, its filtering with draining layers and the re-filling on the surface of the pit.

Price without the Value Added Tax: 17000 euros

To connect the sewage pit with the sewage disposal system, a tube 75,00m long can be used, at a depth of 0,50m underground. The surface will also be fe-filled.

2.      The second offer comes from G. Iordanou & Sia EE. The pit’s dimensions will be 4,00m*5,00m and the height will be 2,5m. It will include the digging of the pit, its filtering with draining quarry material and the re-filling of the surface of the pit with geotextile material.

To connect the sewage pit with the sewage disposal system, tubes φ100, 70,00m long can be used, at a depth of 0,60m underground. The surface will also be re-filled.

TRANSPORTATION of REFUGEES

In refugee transport involved many organizations and unfortunately the needs are more and more people sleeping in the dirt in villages alight and forced to walk for several hours or even days. In this contribution the increased flow of migrants to our island and long distances reaching up to 60 km. The transfer of refugees can be divided into two categories:

A) Transfer from long distances where private buses charge 300 Euros and 16% VAT for each route (coming and going) at any time of day notified So we can make a contract for 20-40 month schedules for hours and destination will we have information.

B) Transport within the city already tentatively carried on an urban bus with consecutive hours 8:00 to 20:00 and run to Thermi, Moria, Kara Tepe, Port, Airport. The statistics we have so far is impressive and we think it should continue. The cost of the program is 2000 euros per month and ending on 25/9 where you need to pay the price of the current month.

FIRE SAFETY 2800 euros

One of the biggest problems at  the hospitality centre for the refugees, PIKPA, is the lack of fire safety and the insufficient fire protection of the area. PIKPA, is in the middle of a pine forest and therefore, there is a high risk of fire due to the electrical heating of the wooden houses and the tents. In the past and when PIKPA operated as a summer camp, there was relevant equipment which unfortunately, now is outdated and impossible to reuse. Therefore the following activities are imperative

Α) Pumping station 1000 euros

In the area, there is a electric powered pumping station from drilling. What is needed in order for it to become operational is a proper maintenance of the electric motor and the respective power board (cost 200 euros) and additionally, the need to buy a gasoline pump to use in case of a power cut a cause of the fire. Β) Fire extinguishing stations/nests 800 euros

In the area, there is a fire-extinguishing network which is not fully operational as there is a problem with some destroyed pipes. The whole network restoring will cost 200 euros plus another 200 euros for the purchase of fire nest (4X50=200)
